OSWEGO – The Plainfield co-op boys’ swimming and diving team is about halfway through the 2015-16 season, and on Tuesday, the Wildcats celebrated a 100-83 victory over Oswego-Oswego East in an Independent Conference dual meet at Oswego East.
“(The season) has been going really well,” Plainfield coach George Sam said. “We have a young group, and this is kind of a cool rivalry. (Oswego-Oswego East) owned us for eight years, and we got the last three in a row now, so it’s fun.
“It was a really competitive meet. A lot of our boys are friends with their boys. We have a good bunch of kids, and things have been coming along really nice.”
Plainfield placed first in eight of 12 events. Brandon Tran won two individual events and two relay events – the 100-yard butterfly (53.16), 100 breaststroke (58.03) and as part of the 200 medley relay team with Merek Avery, Ryan Buss and Kyle Potts (1:39.72) and 200 free relay with Avery, Ryan Netzel and Potts (1:30.41).
