Local student receives 2015 Ted Brattin Civic Youth Scholarship

Matt Schumacher, a senior at Yorkville High School, was awarded the Ted Brattin Civic Youth Scholarship by the Rotary Club of Aurora for outstanding contributions of Citizenship, Service, and Leadership in the Fox Valley community.

Schumacher, one of 10 Fox Valley area scholarship winners, was presented the scholarship at the Pearl Harbor Day Memorial Luncheon on Dec. 7, which was held at Gaslite Manor in Aurora. The luncheon program honored Pearl Harbor survivors, and United States Navy Rear Admiral Jack Mumaw served as guest speaker.
