The Help.Sorry.Love nonprofit is teaming up with Ginger and Soul Catering and Fox Valley Older Adults Services for a free dinner and live entertainment event scheduled for Friday, Dec. 18, to bring communities together in the spirit of hope, joy and fellowship.
After the loss of a close family member, local singer and songwriter Jon Conover, along with his friends and family, started the Help.Sorry.Love NFP Foundation. HSL proactively focuses on the most pressing issues facing communities and offers resources and education in areas such as mental and physical health, addiction, suicide, job training, music education for youth and more.
The holidays can be a difficult time for people. Depression and anxiety rates tend to spike around this time of year in general, and for people who are displaced or lonely it can be even worse. Few things warm the soul during the Christmas season like a warm meal, live music and fellowship.
Chef, part owner of Ginger & Soul Catering and culinary arts instructor at Indian Valley Vocational Center, Rachel Conover, will bring her talents, team and culinary students to cook up something special on Dec. 18.
The event is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at FVOAS, 1406 Suydam Road, in Sandwich. Jon Conover and friends, Michael Colle and Barbara St. John, as well as the Sandwich High School Madrigal Singers, will provide live entertainment.
HSL is sponsoring this event and hopes the open invitations will draw people of all ages and backgrounds to attend and enjoy the feeling of community. There is limited space so reservations are required. RSVP to info@helpsorrylove.org or call FVOAS at 815-786-9409 and ask for Beck, by Wednesday, Dec. 16.
Donations are being accepted online at www.helpsorrylove.org and also can be mailed to Gary Illg & Associates Professional Services, 195 Kendall Point Drive, #15, Oswego, IL 60543. Half of all donations collected with go directly to Fox Valley Older Adults Services and the other half will go toward food and supplies for this event.
