DeKALB – Wireless internet hot spots are coming to downtown DeKalb.
Comcast will install more than 40 Xfinity hot spots around downtown DeKalb. Non-Xfinity subscribers can use the Wi-Fi for two hours a month free. The service is free for Xfinity users and can be used by downloading the Xfinity Wi-Fi app, according to a news release from Comcast sent Monday.
Xfinity customers can download the app and connect to Wi-Fi labeled “xfinitywifi” or “CableWiFi.”
“The addition of WiFi hot spots is a great amenity for business owners, patrons and students and will help attract even more people to downtown to work, shop, enjoy cultural events and study,” said Mayor John Rey, in the news release. “The City of DeKalb appreciates Comcast’s investment in DeKalb’s technology infrastructure.”
