Letter: Wish Dearborn Café owners the best

To the Editor:

Today as great as it was, it was also equally sad. While I had a wonderful and delicious breakfast with old friends, I also had to acknowledge that my volunteers, Bob and Debbie Dearborn, would no longer be a part of the Kendall County Food Pantry family.

When the Dearborns closed Bridge Street Café in Yorkville, they came to us at pantry to volunteer their newfound time. Their love, compassion and understanding for those in need was already known by us, but became more apparent on a daily basis. As owners of Bridge Street Café, they regularly opened their doors on Thanksgiving and Christmas to serve our hungry and lonely neighbors. Today, as owners of their new restaurant, Dearborn Café, located off of Route 34 in Sandwich, I am sure that community will also realize what wonderful people the Dearborns are.

As much as we will miss the Dearborns’ daily devotion to helping those in need, we wish them the best in their new venture.
