Neighborhood Church of the Brethren’s installation service for new minister is Sunday

Pastor Purvi Satvedi began her duties as minister at The Neighborhood Church of the Brethren on Sept. 1. The official installation of Pastor Satvedi will be this Sunday, Oct. 18, at the church. Illinois-Wisconsin District Minister Kevin Kessler will lead the installation service and preach the sermon.

Pastor Satvedi replaces the Rev. Mark Flory Steury, who served Neighborhood Church for five years before his recent retirement.

Pastor Satvedi comes from the Naperville Church of the Brethren where she was Sunday School superintendent. She became a licensed minister in June of this year. She was born in India, coming to the United States in 1997. She is married to husband Morrison and has three children, Caleb, Shayna and Serena.

The public is invited to Pastor Satvedi’s installation. Neighborhood Church is at 155 Boulder Hill Pass in the Boulder Hill subdivision (Montgomery). Adult and children’s Sunday School begins at 9:15 a.m. with church service starting at 10:30 a.m. For more information, call the church office at 630-897-3347.
