Wauconda 41, Grant 7
If Wauconda has any hopes of making the postseason, the playoffs really started last week. Wauconda (3-4) needs to win its last four games to become playoff eligible and thanks to its victory over Grant (1-6) on Saturday, the Bulldogs are halfway there. The Bulldogs were led by Kevin Malisheski who completed all six of his passes for 193 yards and 3 touchdowns. The three touchdown receptions were by Mar Vucovich, Parker Fink and Connor Mitchell. Tyler Sankiewicz added 99 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
Lakes 26, Vernon Hills 20
Lakes continued to dominate the North Suburban Prairie Division with a late win over Vernon Hills (5-2) Friday. The Eagles (5-2) have won 26 games in a row in the Prairie Division. Hunter Falls sealed the victory with an interception return for a touchdown to give Lakes the victory.
Libertyville 48, Warren 21
Libertyville (7-0) continues to roll with a dominant victory over Warren (4-3) Friday. Riley Lees showed why he was recruited by several Division 1 schools, as the senior quarterback had four more touchdowns. Henry Schmidt added a touchdown reception and a touchdown run, and Riley Buncic halted a Warren drive with a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Round Lake 7, North Chicago 6
It has been a rough season for Round Lake, but on Saturday the excitement resembled a playoff victory. The Panthers (1-6) got their first win of the season in a victory over North Chicago. Brandon Behnke stopped North Chicago’s two-point conversion attempt with just 33 seconds left to seal the homecoming victory, Tabieas Young gave Round Lake the lead with just over a minute left on a 5-yard touchdown run. Young finished the game with 45 yards rushing and 105 yards passing.
Zion-Benton 21, Antioch 20
Antioch was on the losing side Friday of a close game with Zion-Benton. Antioch led at one point 14-0 before the Zee-Bees comeback started. Griffin Hill had a touchdown for Antioch (4-3).
Woodstock North 35, Grayslake Central 14
Grayslake Central was able to get the offense moving Friday, but in the end it was four interceptions that cost the Rams in the conference loss to the Thunder. Running back Mikey Andrews led Grayslake Central (0-7) with 108 yards rushing and a touchdown, and Luke Shepherd added a touchdown run for the Rams.
Grayslake North 35, Woodstock 14
Grayslake North (4-3) continued its quest for a playoff berth with a key road win over Woodstock on Friday. The ground game was key for the Knights with Jacob Wright leading the way with two touchdown runs and 196 yards rushing. Dami Oladunmoye also had two touchdowns and 119 yards rushing. Special teams contributed as well with a blocked punt that was returned for a touchdown by Justin Bock.
Lake Zurich 42, Mundelein 9
Mundelein’s return to football success took a bit of a step back Friday in a 33-point loss to Lake Zurich. The Mustangs (4-3) were led by Colten Fisher with 102 yards passing and 72 yards rushing.
Benet 28, Carmel 14
Carmel ended its three-game winning streak with a loss to Bent on Friday Night. Rondel Jamison scored a touchdown and finished with 103 yards. Sharief Bailey added the other touchdown for the Corsairs (3-4).
