Plainfield East principal to become District 202 assistant superintendent

PLAINFIELD – Plainfield East High School Principal Tony Manville will become District 202's new assistant superintendent for administration and personnel on July 1, 2016.

Manville will replace the current assistant superintendent for administration and personnel, Dan Thorse, who will retire June 30, 2016.

Manville will continue leading PEHS the rest of this school year as he transitions into his new role. He came to District 202 in 1999 as dean of students at Timber Ridge Middle School.

In 2001, he served one year as dean of students at Plainfield Central High School before becoming assistant principal at Drauden Point Middle School in 2002 for one year, and then spent four more years as Drauden Point’s principal.

Manville became the first principal at PEHS in 2007, a year before the school officially opened in fall 2008.

PEHS was District 202's fourth high school, opening at the tail end of a 10-year period of extraordinary growth and socioeconomic change.
