Westmont woman dies in single-car crash on Route 83 in Clarendon Hills

CLARENDON HILLS – A Westmont woman died Aug. 15 in single-car crash on Route 83 in Clarendon Hills after she apparently lost control of her vehicle, according to a Clarendon Hills Police Department news release.

According to witnesses, about 12:22 p.m. Aug. 15, Cynthia Fleck, 46, of Westmont, was traveling south on Route 83 at Burlington Avenue, when she allegedly made a quick lane change to get around another car, lost control of her 2002 Volvo S60 and hit a concrete median, which caused the vehicle to roll over multiple times, the release stated.

Clarendon Hills police and fire departments had to extract Fleck from her and she was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove with serious injuries. She was later pronounced dead, according to the fire department.

Fleck was the only person in the car, the release stated.
