Frankfort District 157-C seeking to fill vacancy

FRANKFORT – Frankfort School District 157-C is seeking a district resident to fill a vacancy on the Board of Education.

Board member Cari Ann Mills resigned at the Aug. 12 meeting, according to a news release from the district. The board has notified Regional Superintendent of Schools Shawn Walsh of the vacancy and begun the process to appoint a new member. The appointment to the seat will be for the remainder of Mills’ unexpired term, which goes until spring 2017.

Those wishing to be considered for the vacancy should submit a résumé by Aug. 20 to: District 157-C Board of Education President Gina Briese, Frankfort School District 157-C, 10482 W. Nebraska St., Frankfort, IL 60423.

A special meeting has been scheduled for 8 p.m. Aug. 27 at Chelsea Intermediate School, 22265 S. 80th Ave. to discuss the vacancy. After reviewing the résumés, the board may invite prospective candidates for personal interviews to be conducted during scheduled closed meetings.
