McHENRY – Even though they head back to school next week, summer just got a little longer for McHenry kids.
City officials announced Thursday that the McHenry Parks & Recreation Department Merkel Aquatic Center will remain open through Labor Day weekend. The swim season will be extended with limited hours starting Monday, Aug. 17.
The pool was originally scheduled to close on Sunday.
Open Swim Hours will be Monday through Friday, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Labor Day weekend hours will be Saturday through Monday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day.
