WOODSTOCK – A Woodstock woman is accused of harassing the minor witness in a sex case involving her husband.

Christine A. Gamez, 50, and wife of Andres S. Gamez, both of Woodstock appeared in McHenry County court on Thursday on a charge of harassing a witness.

According to the criminal complaint, Christine Gamez harassed the young girl who made sexual assault allegations against Andres Games, 33. Christine is accused of making "statements which resulted in emotional distress to [the minor]." It's unclear what Christine is accused of saying.

Andres Gamez was charged last month with four separate sex crimes. The most serious is punishable by four to 15 years in prison.

Harassing a witness is a Class 2 felony, punishable by probation or up to seven years in prison. Christine Gamez has not yet been indicted, but her husband had pleaded not guilty to the sex crime allegations.

According to an order of protection, the alleged victim is 13 years old and reported that the alleged abuse occurred over a nine-month period.

Christine Gamez was arrested on June 16, and later posted $3,500 bond. Andres Gamez posted $5,000 on May 22. Both are ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim as a permanent condition of their bond, court documents indicate.

Christine's next court date is July 10, and Andres is scheduled to appear on July 17.
