Motorcycle Safety Month: CLC offers weekend courses

GRAYSLAKE – New to motorcycling or simply looking to polish old skills? The College of Lake County is offering motorcycle safety courses through the Northern Illinois Motorcycle Safety Program.

Three-day weekend courses are held Friday through Sunday for anyone interested in basic rider's safety. The courses are scheduled for about 20 hours, including classroom instruction, text materials, hands-on riding practice and a motorcycle for each student's use.

The riding and written portion of the Illinois motorcycle license test are waived for successful Basic Rider Course graduates who are 18 years or older. Discounts on insurance, parts and accessories may also be available to course graduates, according to the program website.
