TCI Manufacturing and Equipment Sales earns safety award

SPRINGFIELD — TCI Manufacturing & Equipment Sales was recognized with a Rock Solid Safety Award at the Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers (IAAP) annual convention on April 21 in Springfield. The company, located in Walnut, has achieved gold award status. During the award ceremony, Michael Jackley, representing the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration said, “IAAP member company owners, their safety directors and miners make safety a priority.”

The IAAP Rock Solid Safety Award program was developed to publicly recognize members producing crushed stone, sand, or gravel, as well as companies providing services to the industry. A company and its employees must meet specific health and safety criteria during the previous calendar year to qualify for the Bronze, Silver, Gold or Rock Solid Excellence in Safety designation. This is the 13th year for the award program.

“By rewarding our industry’s health and safety leaders, this program encourages other IAAP members to adopt more proactive safety practices and systems designed to prevent job related injuries or illnesses,” said Shawn McKinney, outreach manager for the IAAP.

The Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers is the trade association serving the stone, sand, gravel and non-coal industrial mineral mining industry in Illinois.
