Shaina Hope Mathey of Rockton and Charles Phillip “Chip” Read of Princeton are announcing their engagement and approaching marriage. The couple met while attending Judson University in Elgin.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Tom and Dawn Mathey of Rockton. She graduated from Hononegah High School in Rockton in 2011 and will graduate from Judson University in May with a general art degree.

Her fiancé is the son of Chuck and Bev Read of Princeton. He graduated from Princeton High School in 2007, from Black Hawk College in Kewanee in 2008 with a degree in agricultural mechanics, and is currently pursuing a music and communications degree from Judson University.

The couple will be married June 27 at Riverside Assembly of God in Rockford.
