LAKE BARRINGTON – Canlan Sportsplex has moved into the facility formerly known as the Lake Barrington Field House, 28156 W. NorthPointe Parkway, Lake Barrington. The multi-sport and fitness complex will cater to athletes of all ages and ability, according to a news release.
Tammy Kerr, general manager, said Sportsplex gives residents in the Chicago area the opportunity to participate in team sports, tournament events, camps, special programs, athletic clubs and team building experiences.
"Sportsplex provides a diverse offering of programs," Kerr said.
The 175,000 square-foot facility includes an 85,000 square-foot indoor turf field and 40,000 square feet of hardwood floors.
Village President Kevin Richardson said Lake Barrington is "thrilled" about Sportsplex.
"Sportsplex will provide our residents the opportunity to participate in exceptional sport and team building activities," Richardson said. "Our village is always pleased to welcome new business development, benefiting both our residents and visitors alike."
Village Clerk Loretta Peterson said Sportsplex opened in late January.
Canlan has additional sports facilities in Canada and the U.S., including a location in Romeoville. A ribbon cutting was held Tuesday with the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce.
