AURORA – A Plainfield man was arrested Friday in connection with the fatal overdose last year of a Plainfield woman.
Eric Ziarko, 21, was charged with drug-induced homicide, according to Kendall County Sheriff’s police. Ziarko allegedly supplied narcotics that led to the fatal overdose of Karly Jackson, 20, on Dec. 6, according to authorities.
Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies and Oswego police officers were called when Jackson was found unresponsive in the 1000 block of Route 30. Oswego paramedics took Jackson to Copley Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to police.
An autopsy conducted by the Kane County Coroner’s office showed Jackson died from a drug overdose.
Ziarko, of the 24300 block of Pheasant Chase Drive, was taken into custody by Plainfield police and released from jail Saturday after posting a $250,000 bond. He faces six to 30 years if convicted.
According to court records, Naperville police arrested Ziarko on Christmas Day on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
In March 2012, Ziarko was arrested, along with two other people, by the Will County Cooperative Police Assistance Team. Tiffany N. Book used Ziarko as “her chauffeur” to obtain heroin in Chicago because her driver’s license was revoked, a CPAT agent told The Herald-News following the arrests.
Book and Ziarko each pleaded guilty to one count of delivery of drugs and were sentenced to probation. Ziarko’s probation was scheduled to end next month, according to court records.
