Paula J. Panice

STERLING – Paula J. Panice, 58, of Sterling, died Sunday, March 1, 2015, at her home.

She was born Oct. 21, 1956, in Sterling, the daughter of Norman Chauncey and Claribel Ruth (Schutt) Knowles. She married Richard V. Panice on May 19, 2013. Paula was a member of Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls. Paula lived her life for others, and her favorite saying was “Only a life lived for others is a life worth living.” She spent the majority of her time doing just that.

Surviving are her husband, Richard; her daughter, Michelle (Jason) Schlieben of DeKalb; stepdaughter, Anya (Seth) Meeks of Port Washington, Wisconsin; stepson, Nich (Andrea) Panice of Rock Falls; two sisters, Linda (Denis) Handel and Rena (Tom) Miller, both of Sterling; three brothers, Max (Jan) Knowles of Sterling, Curtis (Vicki) Knowles of Rock Falls, and Brett (Sue) Knowles of Columbia City, Indiana; and 11 grandchildren, Parker and Mia Schlieben, Nate, Judah, Ezra, Sela and Willow Meeks, Andie, Jalee and Josie Panice, and Sydney Reyes.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave., Rock Falls. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Harvest Time Bible Church, with the Rev. Dalmus Meeks, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls.
