JOLIET - Two men were arrested Wednesday after allegedly stealing pizzas and telling a delivery driver they were armed.
Police Capt. Bob Briney said a 20-year-old Domino's Pizza driver was sent to a residence in the 1100 block of Arthur Avenue and arrived at 8:27 p.m.
"No one answered the door, but two men came from around the back of the residence and said they had a gun. One of them punched him in the face and body before they went into his vehicle and took a delivery bag containing two pizzas," Briney said.
The victim called police and Officer Adam Stapleton followed footprints in the snow to a residence in the 1100 block of Magnolia Avenue – one block west of the robbery.
Briney said the two men there – Martel L. Poole, 26, and Rendell J. Booker, 26 – matched the description of the robbers.
After being questioned, they were arrested on charges of aggravated robbery, battery and criminal trespassing, according to Briney. Police also found proceeds from the robbery in Poole's residence, he said.
Poole and Booker, of the 1100 block of Arthur Avenue, were booked into the Will County jail.
