Hickory Creek Middle School in Frankfort announces spelling bee results

FRANKFORT – The Hickory Creek Middle School second annual Spelling Bee was held Feb. 6. The event was sponsored by the Family School Partnership (FSP) organization and conducted as part of the Scripps National Spelling Bee Association. Sixty-seven students participated.

The four highest scorers from their sixth, seventh and eighth grade classroom spelling bee were selected to participate in the school bee. They included sixth grade: Noah Weygandt, Cal Wiechers, Aidan Leiteritz, Allison Lisota; seventh grade: Abigail McCreary, Michael Clarkin, Alex Desjardins, Kendall Blankenburg; and eighth grade: Caitlyn Caraway, Connor Knutson, Nate Warning, Kirsten Lutz.

The pronouncer was District 157-C Assistant Superintendent Curt Saindon. Judges were teachers Vanessa Giammarco, Jennifer Rayola and Tonia Gatsios. The bee lasted 17 rounds.
