2 Chicago south suburbs men get 95 years in Park Forest shooting death

MARKHAM — Two men from the south suburbs of Chicago will each serve 95 years in prison for the 2010 shooting death of a 20-year-old man in Park Forest.

Twenty-one year-old Jabriel Anderson of Park Forest and 24-year-old Corey Anderson of Richton Park had both been convicted of first-degree murder in the death of Adam Martinez.

Prosecutors say Jabriel Anderson had a fight with another man on May 12, 2010. He then called Corey Anderson and 23-year-old Jason Burns to come to Park Forest to help him. Corey Anderson brought a gun and gave it to Burns, who approached the car where Martinez was sitting and fatally shot him once in the head.

Martinez was not the man with whom Jabriel Anderson had fought.

Burns is serving a 35-year prison term.
