Comcast and The UPS Store are working together to simplify the process of equipment returns, according to a news release.
Comcast’s Xfinity customers can now bring their equipment directly to the nearest UPS Store location, where it will be processed, packed and shipped back to Comcast, for free, the news release said.
Equipment may be returned as-is, without wrapping or a box, and customers will receive a confirmation of receipt and tracking information from UPS, the news release said.
“This is all about convenience for our customers,” said Tom Karinshak, senior vice president of Customer Service for Comcast Cable. “The process is super simple and will streamline equipment returns."
Last month, Comcast closed its customer service center along Route 120 in McHenry, where customers were able to pay bills, return equipment, pick up equipment or speak to a customer service representative.
The location however is still open as technical operations facility where 77 employees including technicians are based.
