Katie Elder, 14, tries on basketball shoes during the grand opening Friday morning of Dunham's Sports at Northland Mall in Sterling. Most of the 50,000 square feet of space that houses Dunham's became available when Hibbett Sporting Goods left the mall in February. Dunham's store manager John Watts said the store will employ between 40 and 50 full- and part-time workers. In an interview with Sauk Valley Media for a story that was published Oct. 24, Watts said: "Dunham's is very happy to be here in Sterling, and be part of the revitalization of Northland Mall. This is the greatest number of stores I can remember being open here."
