OREGON – Mary Ellen Bearman, 82, of Oregon, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, at Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon.

Mary Ellen was born May 4, 1932, in Bradford Township, Lee County, the daughter of Harold H. and Genevieve I. (Danekas) Gerbers. She graduated from Franklin Grove High School. Mary Ellen married Wayne Bearman on Feb. 21, 1954, in Ashton. Mary Ellen worked for 34 years in customer service for Kable Printing Co. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for more than 60 years, She quilted, was a member of the Red Hat Society, square danced, and was a member of the church’s Prayer and Praise group. She also was interested in the farming industry.

Mary Ellen is survived by her husband, Wayne Bearman of Oregon; son, Kris (Sheila) Bearman of Byron; grandchildren, Nicole (Chris) Panzer of Naperville and Bryan (Meghan) Bearman of Denver; and great-grandchildren, Bryson Panzer of Naperville and Blaire Bearman of Denver.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Jenny Bearman.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Morris, with the Rev. Josh Ehrler officiating. Burial will be at Ashton Cemetery.
