Man gets indicted after 2013 La Grange Park home invasion

LA GRANGE PARK – Milo H. Simmons, 43, of the 1400 block of South 51st Avenue, Cicero, was indicted on one count of home invasion, residential burglary, theft, aggravated battery and possession of a stolen vehicle by a grand jury at the Cook Country Courthouse at 26th and California in Chicago.

Simmons’ indictment came as a result of a home invasion on Dec. 4, 2013 in the 200 block of Timber Lane, La Grange Park.

At the time of the home invasion, the homeowner was confronted by a woman wearing a mask and holding a knife at about 8 p.m., according to a press release from the La Grange Park Police Department.

The homeowners were tied up inside the home, but his wife, who was also home, was not.

Along with the female intruder, two men also wore masks and participated. Three rings were removed by the thieves, as well as jewelry and the family’s white Lincoln Town Car. About $1,300 in cash was taken as well.

No one was injured in the event.

Simmons, who is serving time at the Pontiac Correctional Facility, will have a preliminary hearing at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Maybrook Courthouse.
