Autumn Leaves opens for first group of residents

SOUTH BARRINGTON – Autumn Leaves of South Barrington held its grand opening July 31.

Area representatives visited to tour the new 29,000-square-foot, $11.1 million specialized care facility.

Representatives of the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce and the village of South Barrington were among those present for a ceremonial ribbon-cutting.

According to staff, nine resident are moving on soon. The first resident will move in Friday. More than 40 adults living with Alheimer’s, dementia and other forms of memory impairment can be accommodated in the facility.

Autumn Leaves also will offer free programs to the public, including guest seminars and monthly support groups.
