Monsanto supports local fire department

ROCK FALLS – For the second time, the Rock Falls Fire Department received a grant from the Waterman site of the Monsanto Fund’s Site Grant Initiative Program.

The $18,000 will be used to purchase portable, handheld radios for each member of the department.

Each winter, employees invite nonprofit organizations to apply for grants to address kindergarten through 12th grade education or critical needs in rural communities, where farmers and Monsanto employees live and work.

This year, the Monsanto Fund awarded $211,040 to 22 sites in Illinois.
