The art of the sword is an ancient art practiced by those devoted to history, tradition and respect. Sensei Bernie Ray, lead instructor for Midwest Shotokan Karate in Genoa, continues to be a student of the sword. Ray (left), pictured with his instructor Sensei Marty Cieplik, chief instructor, Iai Tate Doshi -Rensei Kai, continue to meet and practice weekly at the MSKA Prospect Heights location.
