Sycamore man jailed on charge of raping girlfriend

SYCAMORE – A 20-year-old Sycamore man accused of raping his teenage girlfriend remained in DeKalb County Jail on Tuesday on $500,000 bond.

Officials at Delnor Hospital in Geneva notified police Friday after the girl sought medical attention, Sycamore police said in a news release.

Marcus C. Young, of the 400 block of Stark Avenue, was arrested Saturday on charges of aggravated criminal sexual assault, aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery.

If convicted of the most serious charge, aggravated criminal sexual assault, he would be sentenced to between six and 30 years in prison.

He is next due in court July 8.
