Cavalcade of Planes takes flight this weekend

BOLINGBROOK – For the 15th year, Bolingbrook's Clow International Airport will host its annual Cavalcade of Planes festival on Saturday and Sunday.

The plane festival will include displays of modern and vintage aircrafts, including a fleet of World War II birds, and demonstrations, including skydiving, formation flying and helicopter flights.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. both days. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for children ages 5 to 17 and free for children under 5. Parking is free. Clow International Airport is located at 130 S. Clow International Parkway.

Although only a few hundred residents attended the first Cavalcade of Planes, public participation has since sky-rocketed.

The annual aviation showcase increases in size almost every year, and more than 20,000 people are expected to attend Saturday's and Sunday's festivities.
