HINSDALE

Unlawful use charged

A 17-year-old male juvenile from Oak Brook, a 17-year-old male juvenile from Hinsdale, a 16-year-old female juvenile from Clarendon Hills, a 17-year-old male juvenile from Hinsdale and a 17-year-old male juvenile from Clarendon Hills were charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by person under 21 at 8:36 p.m. Sunday in the 5700 block of Astony Court following a report of a large group of juveniles in a vacant home.

Unlawful use reported

Victim reported that an unauthorized transaction was made using her debit/credit card at 10:24 a.m. April 19 (reported May 19) in the 10 block of Camberley Court. The unknown suspect charged $35.61 using the victim's account.

Domestic battery charged

Ross Sprovieri, 46, 5641 S. Washington St., was charged with domestic battery at 10:39 p.m. May 20 in the 5600 block of South Washington Street after making contact of an insulting or provoking nature with a female family member.

Criminal damage reported

A vehicle was damaged between 7:30 p.m. May 22 and 8 a.m. May 23 in the 700 block of Chestnut Street. All four tires were flat, the gas tank was pushed in, the rear license plate was missing and the door was scratched.

Unlawful sale charged

Shafqat Bhatti, 59, 690 Cynthia Lane, Glendale Heights, was charged with unlawful sale of tobacco to a minor at 4:02 p.m. May 21 at Hinsdale Mobil, 8 W. Chicago Ave.

Hit and run reported

A witness observed a black sedan strike a parked vehicle and leave the scene between noon and 12:20 p.m. Saturday at Hinsdale Central High School, 5500 S. Grant St.

DARIEN

Residential burglary reported

A residential burglary occurred Sunday in the 600 block of Honey Locust Lane. The homeowner was distracted by a male that needed the homeowner to exit the home and look in the back yard for some work to be done. While the resident was distracted, another subject entered the home and stole an undisclosed amount of jewelry and money. Suspect is described as a male, white, between the ages of 30 and 40 with short gray hair and driving a small black SUV.

DUI charged

• Justin Vanhoegarden, 22, 7010 High Road, Darien, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident and improper lane usage May 19 in the 100 block of Holly Avenue.

• Efrain Ramirez, 39, 2614 S. Avers Ave., Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and no driver's license May 23 on I-55.

Retail theft charged

• Marcos Perez, 40, 2630 S. Kerry Lane, Appleton, Wis., was charged with retail theft May 13 at Walmart, 2189 75th St.

• Payel Mukherjee, 29, 7327 Northgate Way, Downers Grove, was charged with retail theft May 16 at Walmart.

• Mala Mukherjee, 49, 7327 Northgate Way, Downers Grove, was charged with retail theft May 16 at Walmart.

• Maryam Khawaja, 20, 511 S. Broadway, Hicksville, N.Y., was charged with retail theft May 19 at Walmart.

• Nimra Butt, 22, 7547 Exton St., was charged with retail theft May 19 at Walmart.

• Richard Boateng, 18, 610 Preston Drive, Bolingbrook, was charged with retail theft May 23 at Walmart.

• Annurah Muhammad, 53, 25237 Knoll Road, Plainfield, was charged with retail theft May 23 at Walmart.

• Debra Ciraulo, 50, 5804 Doe Circle, Westmont, was charged with retail theft Monday at Walmart.

Property damage reported

A vehicle's window was smashed May 23 in the 8100 block of Ripple Ridge.

Vandalism reported

• Several business doors were vandalized May 16 in the 700 block of Plainfield Road.

• Bathrooms were vandalized May 16 at Darien Community Park, 7100 Clarendon Hills Road.

• Several signs were vandalized May 16 at the intersection Chestnut Lane and Bentley Avenue.

Burglary charged

A juvenile was charged with burglary, residential burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of drug equipment, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and possession of burglary tools May 17 in the 6900 block of Brookbank Road.

Unlawful sale charged

Christopher Oskvarek, 22, 11317 71st St., Burr Ridge, was charged with unlawful sale of tobacco to a minor Saturday at Cheap Tobacco, 6800 Route 83.
