STERLING – Fresh meat on wheels has come to the Twin Cities.

Former NFL player Sean Considine, 32, will park his business, Headon & Considine’s Market, at Northland Mall, 2900 E. Lincolnway, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays.

Despite the gloomy weather, business was brisk on opening day Thursday, Considine said.

The former Baltimore Ravens safety, a native of Byron, teamed up with Headon’s Meat and Catering in Creston to create the mobile meat market, the only one of its kind in the state, Considine has said.

The meat is cut at the butcher shop that morning and brought to customers in the distinctive refrigerated trailer.

The customized refrigerated trailer from which he sells New York strip steak, filet mignon, lobster tails and jalapeno burgers, among other things, also makes stops from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Farley’s Appliance parking lot, 1245 N. Galena Ave. in Dixon on Wednesdays, and next to Snyder’s Pharmacy, 415 W. Blackhawk Drive in Byron, on Fridays. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, you can find him in the parking lot at Westfield Fox Valley mall in Aurora.

If business keeps going as well as it has been, a second trailer will be added, Considine said.
