Nonprofit Youth Crossroads celebrates 40th anniversary

BERWYN – A fundraising event will be held to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Youth Crossroads Inc., at 6:30 p.m. April 11, at Skylight Banquets in Berwyn, 7117 Ogden Avenue.

The event, You ain’t Seen Nothing Yet, will feature a 1970s-themed evening with an open bar, dinner, silent auctions, a ‘70s costume contest and classic tunes and dancing.

Tickets are $74 each if purchased by March 24, and $100 each after that date. Tickets can be purchased at www.youthcrossroads.org, or by calling Youth Crossroads at 708-484-7400.

In 1971, a small group of community members developed the Youth in Crisis project as a means of addressing a growing need for crisis counseling and intervention for homeless kids and youth with drug abuse problems. In 1975, it became Youth in Crisis Inc., and changed its name again to Youth Crossroads Inc. in 2007.

The organization annually serves more than 6,000 youth and families from Berwyn, Cicero, Stickney and Lyons.
