CHILLICOTHE — Mark William Shull, 52, of Chillicothe passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at his daughters' home in Lombard. Mark was under Hospice care and spent his final days surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on March 20, 1961, in Princeton and grew up in Tiskilwa. He was the third child and the first son of Marie and Roy Shull.
Mark graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Illinois in 1983. He received his MBA from Bradley University in 1998. Mark worked as a controller for Advanced Technology Services for 21 years.
Mark was a resident of Chillicothe for 23 years and was a member of St. Edward parish. He enjoyed attending his children's sports events and activities, cheering on the Chicago Cubs and Bears and the Fighting Illini. He liked to read, enjoyed running, biking and camping, loved music and most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Sara Fiddes; two daughters, Lindsay (Dan) Hollenbach and Claire Shull' one son, Nathan Shull; two sisters, Rachel (Frank) Payton and Gretchen Van Heukelom; one niece, Emily (Reid) Morris; and one nephew, Mark (Aly) Van Heukelom.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral Mass was held Saturday at St. Edward Catholic Church, Chillicothe, with Father Keith Walden officiating. A private burial will be held for immediate family in his home town, Tiskilwa.
Visitation was held Friday at the Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe, where a rosary was also recited. A viewing was also held prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church.
