WESTMONT – Even before Christmas came, several squads of Westmont Wildcats cheerleaders had reason to celebrate.
Competing at a national youth tournament in Tampa, Fla., early in December, three Wildcat squads earned two first place finishes and one runner-up showing.
The Midget squad, comprised of team members Orrieyanna Brown, Kaylee Charleston, Diamond Clay, Delaney Fischer, Hayley Garcia, Mia Jones, Marianne Listwan, Hannah Macey, Jeanine Mantooth, Victoria Martinez, Lisa Niemiec, Ayana Otokiti, Madison, Paintor, Kaitlin Parsons, Jordyn Strube, and Lily Welch, and coached by head coach Laura Listwan and assistants, Tina Welch, Brianna Gilley and Maya Burrell, took top honors against 11 other teams.
The Junior Pee Wee squad, comprised of cheerleaders Isabella Consiglio, Delaney Dunlap, Chrystabel Gamboa, Malory Garduno, Jeniyah Hood, Adelai Kaiser, Olivia Kleifges, Destiny Phillips, Christina Smejkal, Rylee Szyszka and Brianna Williams, and coached by Margaret Kirchman, Joelle Szyszka, Liz Meneses, Haley Henricksen, Madisen Meneses, Kristina Rogers, Erin Slattery and Carsen Swan finished, was first in its division.
The Pee Wee team took second in a field of 16 teams. The team was made up of cheerleaders Aleesa Andresen, Makenzie Blaine, Patricia Carter, Gryte Cibirka, Isabella Garcia, Lindsay Garcia, Paige Grimm, Jordan Karesh, Gianna Kempf, Tyler Klimczak, Veronika Kiss, Avery Lipasek and Rachel Palermo, and was coached by head coach Heather Wagner and assistants Jessica Salas, Shannon Flynn, Joselyn Santiago and
Calli Thurm.
