Anna Emmert

DIXON – Anna Emmert, 93, of Dixon, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at Dixon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Oct. 6, 1920, in Dixon, the daughter of Joseph and Paraschiva (Trifan) Vlad. She married Willard M. “Bud” Emmert Sr. on Feb. 1, 1943, in Great Falls, Mont. He preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 2010.

She is survived by her children, Carol (Ron) Linboom of Grand Detour, Donald Emmert of Rockford, and David (Barb) Emmert of Dixon; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Mary LaRue of Orange, Calif.;  and two sisters in law, Marilyn Cibu of Dixon and Stella Vlad of California.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Willard Emmert Jr.; daughter-in-law, Benetta Emmert; three brothers, Joe Vlad, Charlie Vlad and Dan Cibu; and three sisters, Salameia Cibu, Mary Vlad and Sylvia Miller.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home in Dixon, with the Rev. Bernard Sehr officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.

A memorial has been established to Serenity Hospice & Home.
