Westmont Aldi store robbed at gunpoint; no one injured, police say

WESTMONT – Police still are investigating an armed robbery of an Aldi store April 15 in Westmont.

About 9 p.m. April 15, a black male in his 20s wearing a puffy jacket and a ski mask displayed what store employees thought to be a gun and robbed the store, 6415 S. Cass Ave., of “$3,000 to $4,000,” Westmont Sgt. Stephen Thompson said.

Thompson said no one was hurt in the incident, which as of Monday remained under investigation. It’s unclear whether the suspect fled on foot or by car, he added.
