An Oregon man was arrested Saturday and charged with the armed robbery of the Dollar General store on Pines Road that occurred Friday night.
Brian J. Clements, 23, was also arrested for the possession of firearms or ammunition without a FOID card. He was being held in Ogle County Jail on $100,000 bond.
Police were called to a report of an armed robbery at the store, 1050 W. Pines Road, at 6:38 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25. Witnesses said a man entered the store, displayed a weapon and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police originally thought he had left the store in a white Toyota, but later determined he fled on a bicycle.
A suspect was identified during the police investigation, and at 4 a.m. Saturday, police conducted a search warrant at 803 Adams St., where they found evidence tied to the robbery.

On Jan. 25, at approximately 6:38 p.m., the Oregon Police Department responded to a reported armed robbery at the General Dollar store 1050 W. Pines Road, Oregon.
According to police, the suspect was wearing a red coat with black shoulders and sleeves which had lettering on the front of it.
The subject entered the store and displayed a weapon demanding money from the employee.
The subject fled the store with an undisclosed amount of US currency.
Oregon Police are looking for a vehicle of interest: an older model white in color possibly Toyota Corolla, 4-door car with dark tinted windows which was seen leaving the area after the incident.
The suspect was approximately 5’9” – 5’10” and approximately 200 pounds
