GLEN ELLYN — Glen Crest Middle School will give the public an opportunity to experience the broad spectrum of art that is part of the school’s curriculum during “Fine Arts Night” Feb. 12 at the Glen Ellyn Public Library, 400 Duane St.
Glen Crest projects in art, home arts and music will be part of the exhibition, highlighting the fine, practical and musical arts.
The teachers involved in planning this exhibit chose projects that would illustrate all aspects of the Exploratory programs offered at the middle school.
Home art projects include sewing, food preparation and design.
Fine art pieces on display were chosen from creative projects completed throughout the school year.
Visitors can view and listen to musical projects on i-Pods available during the exhibit. Students also will be present during the event to perform songs they learned for musical competitions.
The individuals behind this exhibit include art teacher Rich Stachon, home arts teacher Kerry Waters, music teacher Paul Ropp and the Glen Ellyn Public Library’s middle school librarian, Ridgeway Burns.
Stachon also was assisted by student teacher Jake Donovan from Northern Illinois University.
