SYCAMORE – Forty-four students from Sycamore High School and 43 students from Sycamore Middle School were selected to participate in the 2012 Illinois Music Educators Association all-district orchestras, bands and choirs.
The All-District Jazz Festival was held at Rochelle Township High School on Nov. 10. The All-District Band, Orchestra and Choir festivals were at DeKalb High School on Nov. 17.
Students in the All-District High School Choir were sopranos Aubry Nelson, Elizabeth Watson, Brigid Crawford, Sara Diemer and Emily Flower; altos Laura Knuth, Teagan Overhaug and Maddie White; tenor Alex Riley; and bass Dustin King.
Students in the All-District High School Orchestra were violinists Lizzie Briscoe, Hannah Cerny, Katharine Denius, Jessica Luo, Jessica Park, Maddie Pawola, Danielle Pivonka and Miranda Van Wienen; violists Trent Englum, Alyssa Gregorec, Kailey Mulligan and Rebecca Vidales; cellists Kevin Loitz, Baylee Petit and Paige Phelps; bassists Sarah Grant, Seth Kates and Lydia Moore; bassoonist Rachel Hecht; French horns Andrew Selig and Jordyn Shultz; and trumpeter Ben Van Wienen.
Students in the All-District High School Band were flutists Ashlyn Gardner and Alyssa Maillefer; oboist Emma Olson; clarinetist Michael Ekstrom; alto saxophonists Taylor Brady and Gracia Watson; and trombonists Ella Rose Atkins, Casey Bunge and Jessica Howland.

Students in the All-District Middle School Orchestra were violinists Austin Bell, Ellie Bowers-Chen, Ben Briscoe, Jessica Comstock, Lauryn Gregorec, Kelsie Kruskol, Julia Luo, Kallista Mathias, Megan Meyer, Jacob Parra and Athena Ye; violists Katie Boyle, Anna Criswell, Emma Dodson and Ryan Piloni; cellists Kjelden Breidenbach, Sarah Cerny, Colleen Dow, Ryan Loitz, Anthony Nelson, Dana Nielsen, Julia Simmons, Katie Streicher, Claire Thornburg and A.J. Vidales; and bassists Brett Brancato and Evan Jacobs.
Students in the All-District Middle School Band were flutists Alyssa Meier and Mackenzie Taylor; oboists Matthew Rogers and Katrina Thu; clarinetists Kayla Bailey, Brianna Cada, Alex Cuthbert, Nick McKay and Madison Williams; French horn Bret Reser; and percussionist Riley Lohse.
