Plapps celebrate 50 years

Elvin and Betty (Koch) Plapp of Malta celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their family during a vacation in Michigan. They were married on June 23, 1962, at the First Evangelical United Brethren Church in Elgin.

The couple has two children,  Larry (Kathie) Plapp of Delavan, Wis. and Rick (Gina) Plapp of Carmel, Ind. They have three grandchildren, Megan, 17, of Delavan, and Audrey, 9, and Evan,  7, of Carmel.

An open house is planned from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, in the Hearthside Room at the Ellwood House Visitor Center in DeKalb.
