Janyce Stuckert

SPRING VALLEY — Janyce Ann Stuckert, 52, of Spring Valley, with her husband and son by her side, lost her battle with cancer on Thursday evening, Aug. 2, 2012, at her home.

Janyce was born on July 19, 1960, in Spring Valley to Willis and Laura (Miller) Matthews. She married Michael Stuckert on Nov. 11, 1989, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Spring Valley. She was a 1978 graduate of Hall High School, and she worked at St. Margaret's Hospital for 36 years, most recently as a volunteer coordinator. Janyce was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the St. Margaret's Hospital Auxiliary.

Janyce is survived by her husband, Michael, of Spring Valley; her son, Jonathon Stuckert of Spring Valley; two sisters, Cathy (Delmar) Baracani of Spring Valley and Lisa (Nathan) Flanagan of LaMoille; three brothers, Guy (Kathy) Matthews, Michael (Debra) Matthews and Patrick (Debbie) Matthews, all of Spring Valley; her mother-in-law, Darlene Stuckert of Spring Valley; her sister-in-law, Tina Buchanan of Senica; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law, John "Jack" Stuckert.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley. Prayers will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, with a funeral Mass to follow at 11: a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Spring Valley. The Rev. Robert Spilman will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made toward the St. Margaret's Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship in Janyce's name.
