CRYSTAL LAKE – Announcement has been made of the engagement of Shay Cunningham of Crystal Lake and Tom Cooper of Downingtown, Pa.

She is the daughter of Al and Jan Cunningham of Crystal Lake. He is the son of Winnie Cooper of Downingtown, Pa., and the late Tom Cooper Sr.

The bride-to-be is a 2000 graduate of Crystal Lake Central High School, a 2004 graduate of Augustana College in Rock Island with a Bachelor of Arts in social work, and a 2006 graduate of Loyola University in Chicago. She is a school social worker for Crystal Lake School District 47.

Her fiancé is a 1997 graduate of Downingtown High School in Downingtown, Pa., and a 2000 graduate of Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pa., with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism. He is a producer at Comcast SportsNet Chicago.

Their wedding will be May 12.
