Marvin Ott

LADD — Marvin A. Ott, 72, of 128 N. Hennepin St., Ladd, died at 11 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2012, at St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley.

Born Nov. 14, 1939, in North Canton, Ohio, to Archie and Leora (Grim) Ott, he married Marcia Van Cleave April 26, 1969, in LaSalle. She survives.

He was a truck driver for Packard Transportation for 43 years before retiring.

He had been a member of the Church of God in Greentown, Ohio.

Also surviving are three sons, Bryan (Laurie) Galetti of Spring Valley, Marvin D. Ott of  Boise, Idaho, and Eric (Danielle) Ott of Spring Valley; five daughters, Debra (Joe) Bolton of Bakersfield, Calif., Beverly (Jerry) Martin of Nova, Ohio, Rebecca Merrill of Mansfield, Ohio, Barbara (Randy) Byerly of Mansfield, Ohio and Melinda (David) Camps of Princeton; one sister, Deloris Tatar of Massilon, Ohio.; two brothers, Vern (Vi) Ott of Cardington, Ohio, and James Ott of Massilon, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Marvin J. Ott.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, with Deacon John Murphy officiating. Cremation will be accorded after the services.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
