ROSLYN, N.Y. – Amelia DiGregorio and John Moony, both of Chicago, were married in a double-ring ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at The Swan Club in Long Island, N.Y. The Rev. Nishan Najarian officiated.
She is the daughter of Dennis and Linda DiGregorio of Huntington, N.Y. He is the son of Tom and Kathy Moony of Cary.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a one-shoulder, ruched satin A-line, floor-length gown.
She carried a full bouquet of scarlet red roses.
Maid of honor was Anna Surber of Chicago, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kimberly Rodgers of Centereach, N.Y., cousin of the bride; Brenda Bhansali of Chicago, friend of the bride; and Sarah Nutt Gagne of Portland, Ore., friend of the bride.
Best man was David Johnson of Huntley, friend of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Tim Moony of Cary, brother of the bridegroom; Jai Bhansali of Chicago, friend of the bridegroom; and Nick Marascia of Dallas, friend of the bridegroom. Ushers were Angelo and Nick DiGregorio, both of Huntington, N.Y., brothers of the bride.
Nuptial music was provided by a string trio of violins and a cello. Post-nuptial cocktail hour classical jazz music was provided by the bride’s father, Dennis DiGregorio, guitar; John Tinley of Wading River, N.Y., piano; and David Weiner of Huntington, N.Y., bass.
After a reception at The Swan Club, the couple took a wedding trip to Barbados.
The bride is a 1997 graduate of Cold Spring Harbor High School in Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y., and Portland State University in Portland, Ore.
She is the senior event manager for the Drake Hotel in Chicago.
The bridegroom is a 1996 graduate of Cary-Grove High School in Cary and a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago.
He is vice president of mortgage lending at Guaranteed Rate in Chicago.
They make their home in Lakewood on Chicago’s north side.
