Helen L. Lamping

CHANNAHON — Mrs. Helen L. Lamping, 93, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home in Joliet, Ill.

Born in Channahon, Helen was the daughter of the late John and Nellie (Fitzpatrick) Connolly.

Helen led a rich and active life. She was a lifelong resident of Channahon and was engaged in numerous community activities and events. She was a charter member of the Channahon Goldeneers, an original member of the Channahon Civic Club and the Will County Home Extension, Troy Unit.

She was a long-time parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church and member of St. Ann's Womens Club.

Helen was the loving mother of Geraldine (Larry) Super, Rosemary Breen, James (Susan Perkins) Lamping and Edward (Carol) Lamping; the proud grandmother of Mike Super, AnnaMarie (Gary) Read, Chris (Peggy) Lamping, Marji Lamping, Denise Decker, Patricia (James) Nash, Janee Roedel, Derek (Kelly) Lamping and Abby Lamping; the great-grandmother of nine; and the great-great-grandmother of four. Many dear nieces and nephews are also left to cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Robert; dear son, Robert; grandson, Mark Super; two brothers, Joseph and Eugene Connolly; and two sisters, Herriet Reardanz and Marjorie Barry.

Helen L. Lamping will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at St. Ann Catholic Church, Channahon. Mass begins at 10 a.m.. Father Jeff Stoneberg will officiate.

Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Minooka.

Preferred memorials may be directed to St. Ann Organ Fund.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011 at The Maple Funeral Home, 24300 W. Ford Road, Channahon.
