STERLING – Toby J. Diffenbaugh, 31, of Sterling, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at his home.
He was born April 1, 1980, in Sterling, the son of Lynn Diffenbaugh. He was an Army veteran of the Iraq War, serving from 2001 to 2005.
Surviving are his mother, Lynn Clark of Sterling; his wife, Elizabeth “Nikki” Diffenbaugh of Kentucky; his sister, Mariah Diffenbaugh of Sterling; his aunts, Tammy Vinson of Sterling and Sonya Cherry of Davis Junction; his uncles, Steve (Lorraine) Diffenbaugh of Sterling, Loren “Mo” Diffenbaugh of Rock Falls and Tod Diffenbaugh of Lexington, Ky.; his nephew, Liam Diffenbaugh; and his cousins, Tai Diffenbaugh, Dahley Vinson and Amanda Diffenbaugh.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alvin and Janet Diffenbaugh.
A gathering of friends and family will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls.
The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Patrick Pinion of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sterling, officiating.
