CHADWICK – Raymond “Ray” Neill, 76, of Chadwick, passed away Monday, March 14, 2011, at his home.

Ray was born June 5, 1934, in Detroit, the son of Bascom and Cora (McBroom) Neill. He attended Pershing High School in Detroit. In 1951, Ray enlisted in the U.S, Air Force. He served in Korea and was later stationed in Portland, Ore. Ray married Delores Yell of Sterling on Dec. 27, 1954. Following Ray’s discharge from the military, they moved to Detroit, where he worked for Detroit Edison Corp. for 10 years. In 1965, the family moved to Pasadena, Calif., where Ray worked for the city of Pasadena. They retired to Chadwick in 1995. During retirement, Ray and Delores began working for “Hole In One Catering,” a sports caterer which provided food services to the PGA Tour. They enjoyed traveling around the country in their recreational vehicle, managing concessions, and meeting many new, dear friends. Ray also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife of Chadwick; four daughters, Cheryl Neill of Chadwick, Nancy Mitchell of Canoga Park, Calif., Laurel (Phillip “Buster”) Baglieri of Temple City, Calif., and Marci Neill of Pasadena, Calif.; one son, Daniel Neill of Temple City, Calif.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister, Patty Lewis of Gold Beach, Ore.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Earlene Martin; and one brother, Thomas Neill.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sts. John and Catherine Church, Mount Carroll. Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements were completed by Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home,
