KINSMAN — Mr. Leon Ingraham, 94, of Kinsman, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 8, 2011, at Morris Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center with his family by his side.
Born March 6, 1916, in Humphreys, Mo., Leon was the son of Ellsworth and Ora (Briddle) Ingraham.
Leon married Doris C. Sayers on Dec. 12, 1935, in Coal City. She preceded him in death on Nov. 6, 1965. He married Eula Christy Dunlap on July 7, 1967. She preceded him in death on May 9, 1997.
Leon was self-employed, owning and operating Ingraham Trucking Company in Verona, Ill. He also supplied school bus transportation services for the Mazon-Verona-Kinsman school system for many years.
For several years, he raised cattle in Sullivan, Mo., before retiring and returning to Kinsman to make his home with his daughter.
He was a devoted supporter of the Verona Methodist Church and the American Red Cross.
Survivors include his three loving children, Sandra Vint of Kinsman, Gary (Nancy) Ingraham of Brookhaven, Miss., and Joe (Doris) Ingraham of Battle Ground, Wash.; eight grandchildren, Pat (Kathryn) Vint, Kathleen (Joe) Lestina, Julie Ernest, Mark Ingraham, Richard (Lisa) Ingraham, Jeff (Kim) Ingraham, Jodie (Kevin) Bradfield and Cindy (David) Westover; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; one sister, Maxine Johnson of Alexandria, Va.; and two brothers, William J. (Nila) Ingraham of Trenton, Mo., and Kenneth P. (Lorea) Ingraham of Branson, Mo.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Donald Vint; one grandson, Michael Vint; one great-grandson, Evan Vint; one sister; and three brothers.
The family will receive from from 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at U.C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home Ltd., 301 W. Washington St., Morris. Rev. Mark Amenda will officiate.
Interment will follow at Ward Cemetery in Verona.
