GRAYSLAKE – Local caricature artist Abel Aguilar will be featured at the Spring Art Sale Tuesday, April 27, and Wednesday, April 28, at the College of Lake County ARTcetera Gallery Shop.
Aguilar is a CLC graduate who has been a caricature artist for five years. He will be available to draw caricatures from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in ARTcetera on both sale days. Black-and-white portraits cost $10 and take about five minutes. Color portraits are $15 and take about 10 minutes to complete. If giving someone a cartoon image of yourself isn't appealing, there are many other artistic ideas for spring and summer gift-giving occasions such as Mother's Day, graduation and Father's Day at the sale. Shoppers will save 10 percent on the sale dates on hand-made original art such as jewelry, scarves, ceramics, sculpture and paintings. Friends of the Gallery members will receive 20 percent off purchases during the sale.
The sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at ARTcetera, located adjacent to the Robert T. Wright Community Gallery of Art in the Library/Learning Resource Center at CLC's Grayslake Campus. Parking is available in Lots 7 and 7A, near the Brae Loch Road entrance to the campus, 19351 W. Washington St.
